About

The Dining Room is a PR and communications consultancy specialising in food, restaurants, books and lifestyle. Based in Tunbridge Wells, with clients across Kent, London and the South West, we work with some of the most interesting and imaginative chefs, passionate food producers and lifestyle brands. At the heart of The Dining Room is the excitement of close, working relationships and getting to know clients’ personalities and taking them beyond the obvious and formulaic. That’s one of the reasons we choose to only work with people and brands who are fun and fearless, who make us giddy with their passion; whose own businesses are built on integrity, graft and doing things properly.

A melting pot of greed, bossiness, curiosity and fastidiousness (can spot a typo a mile away), Hannah has over 16 years’ experience in the food, hospitality and publishing industries. She has represented and worked with some of the most influential and respected names in the industry including household name cooks, Michelin starred chefs, restaurants and food businesses and created campaigns with results to be proud of. Hannah has a true passion and knowledge of the industry and a solid commercial knowledge to best enhance and promote the profiles of the food writers, chefs and cooks who make eating a pleasure.

With a down-to-earth, knowledgeable and tenacious approach we like nothing more than talking to people from all walks of life about their passions. We’re lively, ambitious and set the bar high for clients, while loving what we do.

“I have dealt with scores of food PRs over the decade that I’ve worked as a food writer, but Hannah is a PR who really stands out from the crowd. Not only does she totally ‘get’ what a food journalist needs but, thanks to her great working relationships with the people she represents, and her efficiency, she delivers too. It is clear that Hannah is hugely respected by chefs and food editors alike, and her contacts and knowledge would be hard to rival.”

— Clare Hargreaves, Feast with a Chef

Approach to PR

Good PR is not just about good coverage. It is about engagement and loyalty to keep customers always wanting more. Brand affinity equals commercial success.

Beneath the passion and artistry, the seasonal menus and dedication, a restaurant or food producer is a business that needs to generate cash to pay the staff and feed the meter. The best return on investment for PR and marketing activity are reservations and repeat sales.

At The Dining Room, we have unrivalled contacts in the media, hospitality and publishing industries – from respected food writers and literary editors to travel journalists and national columnists, online editors to television and radio producers, leading chefs and restaurateurs, style and trend influencers and industry insiders to ensure your brand is only ever talking to the right people.

“Hannah is a joy to work with. She completely understands the love, passion and dedication that goes into running great restaurants.”

— Scott Goss, Head Chef at The Twenty Six
